Gentlemen,
I received a call from a friend who said he knew of a
'Black and Tan' coon hound who was needing a home!
Now, I am old and disabled but I can still get around.
My Walker Sandymay is totally tight mouthed in the woods
and unless she trees, I never know where she is.
I have to stay in camp so she knows where I am, then she hunts within hearing of the camp and we get a few coon that way.
I am poor but I know Sandymay needs help as one dog cannot be everywhere at the same time.
Lots of nights the coon goes way out on a limb and crosses to another tree and goes on,
till he comes down way out there and runs off.
Sandy needs help and I would like a hound who lets me know where he is when we are out hunting
as I love to 'hear the hounds hunting'.
I always hunt the same place right out my back door.
I was just thinking the other day that
I sure need me a 'loud mouthed old male hound'.
To help Sandy keep coon treed and to let me hear the trailing.
Hell, to make some beautiful music for me to listen to!
So a 'new hound' sounded good to me!
I went over to the place I was told about and there he was tied in the front yard!
A 14 month old male Black and Tan hound in perfect shape!
I'll take 'old Duke' to the vet to be checked out but he is fine.
Sandy was jealous but she will get over it.
Old Duke will be kept in a dog pen or in the house,
and walked up to the mailbox and up and down the road on a leash for a couple of weeks,
so that he can always find the house and know where he lives.
We probably won't go hunting with Duke this year as it is almost spring.
But are we are in business now or what?
2 hounds!
I am a rich man now ain't I?
