Gentlemen,
My house is 27 years old and I have never had anything but free vacuum cleaners. Mom and Dad never kept or read owners manuals they just plugged in the vacuum and vacuumed with it.
I inherited their top of the line Hoover upright and couldn't get it to work till I went by this strange new place,
the likes of which I have never seen in my life.
It was a vacuum cleaner repair shop!
They repaired vacuum cleaners!
The guys name was Dan and he was my age.
He told me with one glance at the Hoover:
1. That I had the little red things on the side of the thing which gets the dirt are upside down.
2.The cob web getter on the handle thing is not supposed to have the wand on it when it is not being used and on it's resting place because the floor vacuum won't get any suction.
3. And the roller with the brushes on it isn't even turning because it is not engaged by this lever thing.
I messed with for a few days and replaced belts and cleaned out the filters. But walked in the other day and told old Dan that I will get a check next Friday and rather than pick up my chain saw I would rather pick up my Hoover and just left it.
It will be a dirt sucking machine and I am so excited I dusted the entire den today.
That and in the morning I'll start on the bedroom and the office.
I am mopping the kitchen and bathroom floors with my brand new mop and I have another week to finish all that and finish hanging all the ceiling fans. Then the house will be cleaner than it had been in as long as I can remember. The new fans will be up and the clutter picked up and out of sight.
Well worth the $45. + parts old Dan gets and I am impressed.
It gets old just sitting around ones dusty, dirty old house drinking beer and tequila and watching the same old movies all the time. In a few more weeks I can sit around a much cleaner house and watch slightly newer old movies,
drinking my beer and tequila and gittin ignert
and the devil can take the hindermost.
Two more weeks and I get another check and the chain saw is next. But for now I am on a dusting binge, will have all the new fan/lights hung by then and am so inspired that I have learned so much about vacuum cleaners so easily.
Just ask 'a pro' like old Dan
Thank you
Jack the Knife
